Patio & dome roof FAQs
Everything Perth homeowners ask us about council approval, materials, build times and our lifetime workmanship guarantee. Still not sure about something? Get in touch and we will talk it through.

We build across the Perth metro area and regional WA. We are a service-area business and work by appointment, so there is no showroom to visit. Tell us where you are and we will confirm we cover it.
Yes. The site visit, measure, and written quote are completely free and come with no obligation to proceed.
No. Dome roofs are our specialty and what we are known for, but we design and build the full range of patios, including gable, flat and skillion roofs. We will recommend the style that suits your home, not just push the dome.
Send us an enquiry through the website or give us a call. We will book a time to come out, measure the space, and talk through your options. From there we prepare a design and a written quote.
Patio styles & materials
A dome has a curved roofline that rises to a central peak, which gives more open headroom and sheds water fast. A gable is a pitched A-frame that echoes a traditional roof. A flat or skillion roof is a low single-pitch cover that tucks neatly under an eave. We build all three.
Australian BlueScope steel for the structural frame and Colorbond for the roofing, on every build. We do not substitute imported steel or generic sheeting regardless of cost pressure.
Colorbond comes in 22 standard colours. We bring physical sample panels to the site measure so you can see how each option looks against your home's existing roof, render and cladding in your actual light.
Yes. We can roof the structure with foam-backed insulated panels or fit a separate insulation blanket under the sheeting. Insulated roofing reduces heat transfer in summer and helps with condensation in winter.
Less than people expect. The steel is fixed to a solid frame rather than left to drum, and a curved dome profile helps disperse the sound. If you want it quieter still, we can talk through an insulated roof option at design stage.
Council approval & engineering
In most cases, yes. Any patio attached to a dwelling in WA requires a building permit, and some structures also need development approval depending on size and setbacks. We check what applies to your property before anything is lodged.
We do, on your behalf. We prepare the drawings, arrange the engineer certification, and lodge the building permit application with your local council or a private certifier, then follow it through to approval.
Yes. A licensed structural engineer certifies the design to your site's wind and load conditions as part of the approval process. It is not something you need to organise separately.
It varies with each council's workload, but it is usually a matter of weeks. We lodge complete documentation to avoid delays and keep you updated through the process. We give you a realistic timeframe with your quote.
Yes. If your property sits in a heritage or character overlay, the application may need extra assessment, particularly for anything visible from the street. We check for overlays at design stage and work to the requirements.
Build, guarantee & aftercare
Once the permit is approved, most patios go up within a few days on site. The council approval beforehand is the longer part of the overall timeline. We map out the full schedule for you at quote stage.
Our own licensed and insured WA builders carry out the structural installation. We do not subcontract the build of the structure itself.
It covers defects in our workmanship for the life of the structure. It sits alongside the manufacturer warranties on Colorbond steel and BlueScope framing, which we also pass through to you.
Yes. Our lifetime workmanship guarantee stays with the structure, so it remains a genuine asset for the property regardless of who owns it.
Very little. An occasional rinse to clear dust and leaves is usually all it needs, and rain handles most of that on exposed sections. There is no repainting or resealing required.
No. Every patio is priced to the specific design, size and site conditions, so a set price list would be misleading. A free quote gives you the real number for your project with no obligation.
